Minutes
- Mr. Edwards reported on the following:
- tryouts for spring sports are starting
- boys and girls basketball tournaments this weekend
- freshmen debate 2/19/20
- high school students visited the middle school to talk to the 8th graders about being freshmen
- spring musical rehearsals have started
- bowling sectionals Friday and Saturday
- start planning for Law Officer Night of Appreciation
- National Honors Society starting Pennies for Patients in March
- scheduling starts soon
- seniors are planning a service project
- choir and band contest March 6 and 7 at BWHS
- Mr. Fujii shared his appreciation for the picture, especially as a new Board member. He shared in Mr. Edwards excitement of us hosting the band and choir competition, what a great opportunity to showcase our campus. He congratulated the wrestlers for being named OCC Champs and two of the wrestlers going to State. Also, we have two girls that are participating in the girls' wrestling team. He shared information concerning the Debate Team and announced that scholarships for BWEF are due after break. He emphasized on Mr. Jado's newsletter regarding cold and flu season - he thanked the custodians for going above and beyond in trying to keep our students and staff healthy and safe.
- Mr. Schneider echoed Mr. Fujii's appreciation of our custodians. He attended the Coffee Chat with Mayor Love. They had an interesting conversation concerning preliminary drawing for Blackhaw. Questions arose regarding how to preserve the natural habitat, he gave her the contact information for the Fish & Wildlife organization. She provided information concerning a recycling grant that might be useful for the District. With six townships and two villages, each has its own concerns and priorities; however, he believes that sharing thoughts and ideas with each other can only benefit everyone as a whole. He will start meeting with two council members from the Village of Sunbury, he invited one participant to accompany him.

This is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not considered a public community meeting. This is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda. (Please reference criteria for Public Participation, which is attached to the agenda.)
