The mission of the Big Walnut Local Schools is to inspire and guide each student to his or her maximum potential.
It is recommended that the Board approve the agenda as presented on June 17, 2024.
It is recommended the Board approve the minutes of the May 20, 2024, regularly scheduled meeting.
This is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not considered a public community meeting. This is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda. (Please reference criteria for Public Participation, which is attached to the agenda.)
It is recommended the Board adopt the following policies (second reading):
It is recommended the Board approve the renewal of the district's property, liability, violence, vehicle, cyber, and pollution coverage through the Ohio School Plan effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, at a cost of $259,263.
It is recommended the Board approve the upgrades to the BWMS auditorium to be completed by Summit Construction.
It is recommended the Board approve the fencing at transportation to be completed by Workman Fence.
It is recommended the Board approve the agreement between Professional Speech Services and Big Walnut Local Schools for the 2024/2025 school year.
It is recommended the Board approve the purchase of Reveal Math through McGraw Hill.
It is recommended the Board approve the Subscription and Services Agreement between Big Walnut Local Schools and SchoolCare.
It is recommended the Board approve the BWI Trail Project final agreement between the Big Walnut Local Schools and the City of Sunbury in the amount of $70,143.45.
It is recommended the Board approve the following extended field trip:

It is recommended the Board adopt the following textbooks:
All HR items are pending receipt of successful background checks, verification of experience, and completion of all necessary documentation.
It is recommended the Board abolish the second shift, part-time custodial position at the Big Walnut Early Learning Center, effective June 28, 2024, and direct the Superintendent to identify the individual affected by the abolishment of this position in accordance with Article 14 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for OAPSE #524.
It is recommended the Board accept the following resignations, effective at the end of the 2023/2024 school year:

It is recommended the Board approve a two-year certified contract for Sarah Peacock, SOU 1st Grade, effective beginning the 2024/2025 school year.
