  • SOU Building Presentation - SOU students shared how they have had an opportunity to lead through Student Council:
    • staff recognition
    • donuts and drinks for the bus drivers 
    • bags to help students in need
    • changed program for  Veteran's Day
    • exchanged student counsel students with BWE
    • mix up day where students get a colored piece of paper that tells where the student is going to sit at lunch and it allows them to mix up and sit by students they may not know
    • change colors of their library
    • welcome packets and tours for new students 
  • Mrs. Sturtevent presented on the Global Scholars program and two students shared the positive impact the program instills:
    • better understand the cultural differences in our own country
    • inspires students to help improve aspects of our own community
    • learn cultural differences that surround us
    • learn about yourself

    • Exhibit B - Assumptions, Clarifications and Exclusions provides additional understanding of what is assumed in the GMP for the site work
    • Exhibit C - GMP Breakdown provides an overall cost for all the work in the GMP

  • Ms. Wood shared:
    • Leo Club invited parents to bring their school-aged children to the high school on Valentine’s Day to give parents the night off.
    • BWHS has been having “Eagle Time” each Tuesday in February. During the 45 minutes, students can make up assignments, take tests, and get help in whichever class they need. Administrators are hoping to launch the program next school year.
    • Tomorrow is the Freshman Debate from 12:40-2:20. They will be debating whether current school building designs, trends and modifications are conducive to academic success and learning.
    • The Big Walnut Theatre program is presenting Mama Mia next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00. Tickets can be ordered online or at the door (students/seniors $8, adults $10).
    • Next Friday the student council is raising awareness for distracted driving by doing the Red Thumb Reminder. During lunch periods students can have their thumb painted red. When they pick up their phone they will see the red thumb to remind them not to text and drive.
  • Mrs. Lee said that she went to the MS  tonight and there was a presentation by the Delaware Health Department about vaping e-cigarettes.
